Interview with a student pilot

Steven Hardy has just started his PPL with us, so we had a chat with him to find out how he’s getting on.

– Why did you decide to start your PPL?

Aviation has always been a real interest of mine. From taking photos to plane spotting. I have lost 7 stone in weight, and I hit 30 at Christmas. Instead of a party, I decided that I was going to learn to fly. It’s a dream of mine for a long time now and I am finally doing it!

– What have you enjoyed most about your lessons so far?

I love being in the air. I love getting behind the controls and actually flying. Roger is a great instructor, and I cannot wait for my next lesson.

– Do you have any goals for when you’ve got your PPL?

One thing I would love to do, is to hire a plane one weekend and flying to somewhere with the family like a mini break away. I would love to go on and do my night flying and instrument rating too.

– Sum up your experience so far in three words.

Thrilling, amazing, exciting
